CODE OF CONDUCT
Palmyra Youth Lacrosse Association's (PYLA) goal's for all registrants:
1. Learn to LOVE the game of lacrosse
2. Become GREAT teammates
3. Develop RESPECT for teammates, opponents, officials and coaches.
PYLA players, coaches, parents and spectators are to conduct themselves in a way that reflects these values. In becoming a part of the PYLA community, individuals accept the commitment to adhere to the below "Code of Conduct"
Coaching Expectations:
• Coaches will act in accordance with MPYLA (Mid Penn) and LLYLL (Lebanon-Lancaster)'s mission to emphasize fair play and sportsmanship.
• Coaches at all levels will have positive attitudes and be positive role models for players while highlighting teamwork, sportsmanship and character building.
• Coaches will provide opportunities for all players to develop their skills.
• Coaches will put PYLA's goals/(above) ahead of winning
• Coaches will have all necessary clearances and certificates required by PYLA
Player Expectations:
• PYLA players will show respect to teammates, opponents, officials and coaches at all times during PYLA events.
• PYLA players shake hands and say "thank you" to all officials after each game, otherwise do not talk to the officials unless it is something positive.
• PYLA players do not talk to spectators during games.
• PYLA players will give coaches full effort and attention during all PYLA practices and games
• PYLA players will demonstrate good sportsmanship during practices and games.
• PYLA players do not throw their helmets, sticks, or other equipment
• PYLA players do not intentionally try to injure other players
• PYLA players do not use cheap play or cheap talk
Parent Expectations:
• PYLA parents will show respect to players, coaches, other parents and officials during lacrosse games and other PYLA events.
• PYLA parents do not use profane language and/or gestures.
• PYLA parents support the officials with compliments and "thank you's"
• PYLA parents support our volunteer coaches and when they have a concern, will approach the coach at an appropriate time (away from players, not immediately after a game)
• Please let coaches know as soon as possible if your player will not be at a practice or game via the TeamSnap availability feature
• PYLA parents are always supportive of players efforts, focusing on the positive things their players are doing.
